The Photographer
Based in Lowestoft, Peter made the transition from Engineer to Landscape Photographer in 2005. His interest in photography began in 1994 when he was given a 35mm film camera by his parents. He soon started to learn about photography, filtration and picture composition in greater depth. Later years saw continued study and experience with a 35mm Rangefinder camera before first using a Digital SLR in 2003.
Peter now specialises in images of Southwold and The Suffolk Heritage Coast. Here, he attempts to depict the power of the sea and the tranquillity experienced along the Suffolk coastline, as well as surrounding areas. His images utilise both panoramic and standard formats and he is a firm believer in 'getting it right in the camera at the time'.
His work is made available for sale as Rolled Prints, Mounted Prints and Framed Prints in Solid Oak which are 'ready-to-hang'. This gives customers a degree of choice in the final presentation of their picture. His work has been retailed through Southwold Pier since 2006 and he has other outlets around Lowestoft at Martello's Coffee House, Sparrows Nest and The Thatch, Kirkley Cliff.
Peter also has family connections with the area. His father was born in Southwold and his Grandfather was a well-known musician in the town. His pictures have been featured in the glossy EADT 'Suffolk' county magazine, the 'Eastern Daily Press' & 'East Anglian Daily Times' newspapers, a Salmon Calendar, the WDC 'Sunrise Coast Holiday Handbook 2009' and a local Hotel Brochure. He took part in 'Suffolk Open Studios' in 2009, undertakes Property Photography, runs the occasional Photography Course locally and continues to record the inherent beauty found within the Suffolk landscape.
Peter is a member of the Bureau of Freelance Photographers.
