Peter is a Suffolk-based photographer specialising in Virtual Tours, panoramic photography and 360° interactive images for websites.
Following on from a maths and computer science background, Peter formally qualified at HND level in Engineering (Electronics) in 1989. He then worked as an Electronic & Software Design Engineer for many years - developing control and test systems for industry.
In 2005, he combined his technical background and experience with an interest in Digital Panoramic Photography - its inherent requirements of accuracy and calibration provided a connection immediately. The nature of his previous work has enabled him to offer a meticulous and solid technical approach to this type of photography. Images are, however, always shot with an eye for composition and perspective - he is a firm believer in 'getting it right in the camera at the time'. Peter has been engaged in photography since 1994 and switched completely from film to digital capture in 2003.
Peter's images of Southwold and the Suffolk heritage coast depict the power of the sea and the tranquillity experienced along the coastline, as well as surrounding areas. His work has previously been retailed through Southwold Pier (2006 - 2011) and Harbour Marine Services, Blackshore. In Lowestoft he has displays at at Martello's, Sparrows Nest and The Thatch, Kirkley Cliff. His Panoramic Prints remain a popular item with customers. During 2010, Peter developed a range of new photographic services for the area. These are based around the creation of interactive 360° images for websites - also known as 'Virtual Tours'. These allow the viewer to explore & interact with the image under their own control.
Peter has family connections with the area. His father was born in Southwold and his Grandfather was a well-known musician in the town. His pictures have been featured in the glossy EADT 'Suffolk' county magazine. Peter has, in previous years, run the occasional 'Introduction to Digital Photography' course locally for Warner Leisure Hotels.
Peter is a member of the Bureau of Freelance Photographers and is a contributor to The World Wide Panorama.
